Service Description
SealDoc for Jira is an Atlassian Forge app that provides electronic signatures and audit trails for Jira issues and Confluence pages. The Service includes:
- Electronic signatures — multi-person sign-off with signature meaning, signer affirmation, and two-component signing (session + PIN).
- Audit trail — tamper-evident, hash-chained log of every signature, approval, rejection, revocation, and configuration change.
- Approval workflow — Draft → In Review → Approved state machine with configurable minimum signers and separation of duties.
- Safety classification — per-document safety levels (ASIL, DAL, Risk Class, or custom) with per-class approval rules.
- GDPR erasure — anonymize signer display names while preserving hash chain integrity.
Atlassian Platform
The Service operates within and depends on the Atlassian Jira and Confluence platform and the Atlassian Forge runtime. Your use of Jira and Confluence is governed by Atlassian's own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of the Atlassian platform.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of document signing, audit trail management, and compliance tracking. You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the application, except as permitted by applicable law (including EU Directive 2009/24/EC).
- Use the Service to violate any applicable laws or regulations.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the Atlassian platform.
- Use automated tools to abuse the Jira API through the Service beyond normal usage patterns.
- Attempt to tamper with, bypass, or modify the audit trail or hash chain.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, documentation, and branding, is owned by Maciej Jezierski. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your data remains yours. We claim no ownership over Jira issues, Confluence pages, signatures, or any other content in your Jira or Confluence projects.
Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all Jira configurations.
The compliance features provided by SealDoc (electronic signatures, audit trail, approval workflows, safety classification, hash chain integrity) are tools to assist your compliance efforts. They do not constitute legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service meets your specific regulatory requirements, including but not limited to 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, eIDAS, and GDPR.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MACIEJ JEZIERSKI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR DIRECT DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal duties) to the extent required by the laws of your jurisdiction.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maciej Jezierski from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your reliance on compliance mappings, regulatory documentation, or feature descriptions as legal, regulatory, or compliance advice; or (c) your violation of these Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App from your Jira site. Upon uninstallation:
- Forge SQL data (signatures, audit log, approval status, signing PINs, settings) is scheduled for deletion by Atlassian. Atlassian's data retention and purge policies govern the actual deletion timeline.
- Your Jira and Confluence data (issues, pages, content) remains unchanged.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service if these terms are violated.
Subscription & Licensing
SealDoc is licensed through the Atlassian Marketplace. Pricing, subscription periods, and payment terms are governed by the Atlassian Marketplace terms. Refunds are handled according to Atlassian's refund policy. An active Marketplace license is required to use SealDoc's signing, approval, and configuration features.
Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: Atlassian platform outages, natural disasters, acts of government, internet disruptions, pandemics, or other force majeure events. SealDoc's availability depends on the Atlassian Forge platform, and Forge outages are outside our control.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via the Atlassian Marketplace listing or email to your Jira site administrator before the changes take effect. For non-material changes, updates will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Maciej Jezierski regarding the Service. They supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, and representations with respect to the Service. Marketing materials, compliance mappings, and documentation provided by SealDoc are informational only and do not form part of this contractual agreement.
Assignment
We may assign or transfer these Terms, and any rights and obligations hereunder, to a successor in interest in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, provided the assignee agrees to be bound by these Terms. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Poland and applicable European Union regulations, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Wroclaw, Poland. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory provisions of applicable consumer protection law.
